Why a project on honey bees and beekeepers?

Pollinators, especially bees, provide us with valuable information about the ecosystem within a radius of 2-3 km.

We have created a technology that translates the language of bees, allowing us to understand their signals and needs.

Our goal is to map the territory, distinguishing sustainable areas from those problematic for the health of pollinators.

Our community of companies and citizens is adopting this project.

How to Adopt a Hive?

adotta

Adopt

Select the technological beehive you want to adopt. Each hive is monitored by sensors and microphones that collect data on the bees and their environment.

adotta

Monitor

Download our app, analyze sensor data, and follow the growth of your hive. You will learn from the bees and their beekeeper, and the generated data will be useful for universities and research centers.

adotta

Receive

Receive photos and videos from your hive and honey as a reward as soon as it is produced. Honey is precious, do not abuse it and always take a small amount.

Who Are Bees and Pollinators?

In the world of pollinating insects, three main categories emerge: generalists, specialists, and nocturnal pollinators.

Generalists, like domestic bees, visit many flower varieties, appreciating biodiversity.

Specialists focus on specific species, forming mutualistic relationships with these plants.

Nocturnal pollinators, like moths, work at dusk when some plants release nectar and intense fragrances.

What dangers do bees and beekeepers face today?

3Bee Defends and Studies Pollinators

Monitor

3Bee has developed technology to study domestic and wild bees. The data allows us to understand the health of biodiversity.

logo

Regenerate

3Bee is attentive to data, but it has a network of professional Growers whose sole purpose is to cultivate biodiversity. If you want to support biodiversity in addition to a hive, discover the 3Bee Oasis project.

logo

Educate

Our data is used by universities and research centers to study the Apis mellifera as well as the habitat of pollinators. Over 100+ schools have also activated 3Bee's educational pathways to study Bees, Pollinators, and Biodiversity.

HOW DOES 3BEE WORK?

Here are all the 3Bee projects: bees, oases, and education.

What's Included in Adoption

  • Regular updates on the hive: health conditions, beekeeper activity
  • Video and Photo content of your bees
  • Personalized certificate
  • Honey from the hive while respecting the bees
  • By becoming a virtual beekeeper, you will support scientific research thanks to the data generated by your hive.

Adopting a Hive does not aim to "save the bees." The honeybee is an excellent pollinator and is cared for by beekeepers, who ensure its management and well-being. Our project unites beekeepers, bees, and technology to optimize work in the apiary and generate data to exploit correlations with biodiversity, floral availability, and seasonal trends. Thanks to our sensors, beekeepers can reduce the number of interventions, improving the efficiency and well-being of the colonies. The collected data is also used by universities and specialized research centers to study bees and the environment. By choosing one of our hives, you receive the produced honey and can follow its progress in real-time through the sensors.
